Nickname/s Larns and certainly not anything to do with suits or cats.
Date of Birth 4th October 1977
Bats Right-handed
Bowls Right arm filth spin that's not even worthy of net bowling.
Specialist Fielding Position Point and a poor wicket keeper.
Best Batting 150 in 22 overs at Tillingham after Don Bates had bored us senseless for 18 overs, him sitting on the side was enough motivation to keep me batting. I scored a hundred on debut in a Sunday 3's game (those were the days) and a hundred on debut for Saturday 3's home against Chingford.
Best Bowling 4-48 in a 2's fixture against Hornchurch; massively under-used!
Previous Clubs Chadwell Heath 1990-1994; This chap Terry suggested I come to Brentwood.
Brentwood CC Member since 1995
On-field Club duties Currently vice-Captain of the 2's. Captained Sunday 1st team for two years finishing runners-up in the league before I passed the reigns over to Benjamin Cocklin and Sunday cricket disappeared.
Off-field Club duties Providing talented cricketers from St Martin's.
Awards Man of the Match in the Essex Cup Final in 2001 when we beat Chingford however that was in Rugby. Cricket; Young Player of the Year at Chadwell Heath 1994.
Little known personal fact Playing against Jonny Wilkinson in the 1996 national cup quarter final at Rugby, within 18 months he played for his country I was getting drunk at uni.
Sporting hero(es) Mark Ward the former diminutive right sided midfielder for West Ham in the 80's until he was convicted of dealing cocaine and sentanced to four years in prison. I also looked up to my PE teacher at school, now I avoid role models.
Hobbies or Interests The Brewery Taps.
Worst Moment Never nice getting relegated; But being dropped to the 1's only for the two's to get relegated at Chelmsford two years ago was rubbish.
Most Memorable Match Loads; Whitehall getting smashed by that 12 year old in black trainers; scoring 338-0 with Danny Hazle; promotion last year; various other promotions; Pies breaking a deck chair at Chelmsford when slagging off Princess Di to name but a few.
