Nickname/s
Too new (or boring) a member for one to have stuck.

Date of Birth
19th August 1965.

Bats
Right-handed.

Bowls
Medium swing.

Specialist Fielding Position
Fine leg.

Best Batting
42 for the IIIs at Woodford Wells in August 2005. It was part of a vain attempt to overhaul the Wells' 290-odd but did give us a glimmer of a victory as Ash Patel and myself added over 100 after I joined him at 100 for 8. My 25-year-old bat split in the course of the boundary frenzy - the ultimate sacrifice. Ash finished on 119 not out. In fact he was to blame for my dismissal as he had just told me that if we batted sensibly we could win. I naturally responded by swinging across the line and being given lbw by some visually impaired umpire called Ken Lingwood.

Best Bowling
8 for 27 from 15 overs for the IIIs against Gidea Park in August 2005. GPR were not my favourite team after their sledging of my batting (the cheek!!!) during defeat at their place earlier in the season. I came back from holiday a day early so I could play against them again. Sweet revenge. Oh, and I took a hat-trick, which started with Winmill's wicket and was completed with two swinging yorkers that took middle and off.

Previous Clubs
Longridge, Lincoln Lindum.

Brentwood CC Member since
2003

On-field Club duties
Making everyone else feel good about their fielding.

Off-field Club duties
Moaning about the quality of beer in the clubhouse (I'm launching a campaign: "We don't mind paying more if it means a better pint").

Awards
2005 player of the year for the IIIs.

Little known personal fact
I once played football with Hugh Grant.

Sporting hero(es)
Wasim Akram, Clive Lloyd, Harry Pilling (all great Lancastrians), and, obviously, Tony Prior.

Hobbies or Interests
Moaning about the quality of beer in the clubhouse.

Worst Moment
Getting abused from 100 yards by Pies in the final match of 2004 when, having played despite a hamstring strain for the previous six weeks, I couldn't get down to stop a screaming four. As I retreated to fetch the ball, I could hear him shouting from his perch at first slip: "No, no, no...do we want to win this effing match or what?" I wanted the ground to open up - and throw him down it.

Most Memorable Match
Hat-trick day against GPR.
