Brentwood CC Member
1983 - 1993; 1995 - 1999

Off-field Club duties
I was the lookout man for Gavin Todd when he was a professional pickpocket at the club back in the 90's and dance partner for Lats when we both felt amorous.

Awards
Colt of the year - 1985
Most promising U21 - 1990

Little known personal fact
Got permission from Leo Sayer to play "You make me feel like dancing" as he was having a table dance at a club I worked in. All I could see was his bubble perm as this old dragon suffocated him. What a guy!

Sporting hero(es)
As a kid, Ian Botham and Frank McAvennie, now it's Lance Armstrong, surely no one else compares. (Is that a bit of a David Brent answer?)

Hobbies or Interests
Wasting my money watching West Ham.

Worst Moment
Getting relegated from div 1 in 1996 (in a 20 club league) a year after playing so well and finishing unbeaten in 6th place place.

Most Memorable Match
My best feats for the club on a personal level always sadly coincided with defeat. (Someone once told me that cricket is a team game.) Hornchurch away League Cup quarter final 1995; they needed 30 with six wickets left and I picked a couple of wickets and we won the game by 8 runs. Fantastic.

Most Memorable Non-Cricketing Moment
Cheshunt May 1991, after arriving at the ground late to be greeted by a furious Dave Cantor who was fielding in brown Timberland shoes, whites up to his knees and a shirt that wasn't big enough for your average 8 yr old. We had his kit in the boot of the car. He's never really forgiven me for that.

Other
The OCG Brentwood is a place still dear to my heart for all the wonderful moments I had growing up playing there. I have met some incredible people thanks to it and many I still consider as great friends, years on from first meeting them. People like Hobbsy, Spud, Lats, Tim Potter and all of the Cootes were brilliant to me as a kid. Luckily Hutton C.C. has an incredible bunch of guys there now that makes it impossible for me to play anywhere else.
