BCC has recently been awarded the status of a Brentwood Academy Club by the local Council.

There are only eleven sports clubs in the Brentwood area who are Academy Clubs, and to be elected the club needs to display that it is completely inclusive and caters for all needs, including people with disabilities as well as young people and children. It also has to have the Clubmark qualification and to have members of the club competing at County level or above.

The scheme aims to help the clubs develop and the Council employs an Academy Club Support Officer to assist the Academy Clubs with their general development and also to help to access funding.

All Academy Clubs were invited to the Brentwood Sports Awards Evening recently where they each received cheques for £1,000.00 to spend on club development.
