Report by Ian Coleman
An excellent team performance ensured a convincing win for Brentwood in this local derby. Brentwood put Shenfield into bat and accurate spin bowling from Coleman and Maxwell soon had Shenfield in trouble. Coleman got the prized wicket of captain Castell, well caught by Whetsone and with wickets falling regularly Shenfield struggled to a disappointing total of 53.
Opening the batting for Brentwood, Horswill and Whetsone prospered against some wayward Shenfield bowling and their excellent shot selection coupled with effective running between the wickets quickly reduced the arrears. Once Whetstone was out for 17 Ali maintained the momentum and saw Brentwood home without losing further wickets.

Report by Ian Coleman
Brentwood maintained their impressive start to the indoor league campaign with an emphatic victory over Chelmsford. Coleman's decision to insert Chelmsford was vindicated when Horswill dismissed the Chelmsford captain with the first ball of the game. Brentwood's bowling, ably backed up by fine wicket keeping by Haynes, maintained the pressure on the Chelmsford batsmen and with five overs completed, Chelmsford were reeling at 19 for 5 including a wicket for Coleman and three run outs. The last pair of Chelmsford began to stage a recovery but at 39 Whetstone took a brilliant caught and bowled to end the innings.
Brentwood's opening pair of Ali and Horswill started confidently with Horswill hitting a straight six and Ali showing deft touches with the bat as he played shots all round the wicket. Brentwood survived the scare of losing two wickets in the fourth over and so it was left to Ali and Maxwell to see the team home to a comfortable four wicket win.
